Conference on Sustainable Renovation Models: affordable comfort for smarter cities

On 21 and 22 April 2016, experts from various European countries gathered in Aachen to share their experiences on smart district refurbishment solutions. Over 100 participants including representative from municipalities, architects, researchers as well as energy players came together for this two-day event to exchange best practices on sustainable refurbishment. On Friday 22 April, a “Conference on Sustainable Renovation Models: affordable comfort for smarter cities“ took place at the Eurogress centre in Aachen. After introductory presentations on the progress of the EU-GUGLE pilot districts, the participants split into parallel sessions to discuss the challenges of stakeholder engagement and the integration of innovative refurbishment technologies. In the afternoon, EU-GUGLE project partners presented their solutions regarding the involvement of tenants and the reduction of the costs of renovation.
